Preliminary Valuation Activity of Calotropis gigantea L. Extracts against Several Insect Pests

نویسندگان

چکیده

Calotropis gigantea produces secondary metabolites. Some toxicity tests on several pest species had been conducted, yet the most susceptible towards C. extract is still unknown. This study aims to determine insect and behavior of insects extract. The test methods used in this research were leaf dipping spraying upon four different orders (Bactrocera carambolae [Diptera: Tephritidae], Nilapavata lugens [Hemiptera: Delphacidae], Sitophilus zeamais [Coleoptera: Curculionidae], Plutella xylostella [Lepidoptera: Plutellidae]). concentration was 25 g.L-1 control. Deterrence using a choice no-choice for 1.5 hours observed every five minutes. Five replication each concentration. Behavioral dietary test. bok choy disc immersed into solutions 1 minute air-dried petri dish. Observations carried out 12 with an observation period hours. A feed method. concentrations 12.5 µgL-1and 25, 12.50, 6.25. 3.12, 1.56, 0.78, 0.39, 0.19, 0.09, 0.04 µgL-1. P. considered more than B. carambolae, N. lugens, S. zeamais. showed toxic feeding deterrent larvae. LC50 value against by 16.9 µg.l-1 18.5 spray. components consist alkaloid, tannin, phenol, flavonoid, saponin, terpenoid. result that has substance potential control xylostella.

Biological activity of Dolichos biflorus L. trypsin inhibitor against lepidopteran insect pests.

Protease inhibitors confer resistance in plants against insect pests by inhibiting larval gut proteases. Cultivars of Dolichos biflorus were screened for their inhibitory activity against midgut proteases of Pieris brassicae larvae. Seed extracts of developing and germinating seeds of HPK4 cultivar inhibited larval gut proteases of Spodoptera littoralis efficiently. Neonate larvae of P. brassic...
